Best Leave-In Conditioner

Hey guys! Today I’m going to be talking about my favorite leave in conditioner, African Pride’s Olive Miracle Leave-In Conditioner. As someone with really dry ends, leave in conditioner is critical for maintaining long hair while also not looking like a ratty mess.

Claims: On Walmart’s website they claim,

“Take care of your luscious locks with African Pride Olive Miracle Anti-Breakage Leave-In Conditioner. It’s easy to apply. This featherlight African Pride olive oil leave-in conditioner helps protect hair from damage while strengthening it deep inside for a stronger, healthier look. In just one easy step, this unique daily treatment moisturizes each strand to help repair and protect from being dry and brittle. Use this olive oil miracle leave-in conditioner daily on dry hair or after shampooing. The quick-absorbing, non-greasy formula is nice for added protection before blow drying.”

I completely agree with the claims. This conditioner is super light, which is one of the reasons it’s my favorite. It also coats every strand of hair super nicely leaving my hair thicker, stronger, and shinier with intense levels of moisture.

Ingredients:

Water, Paraffinum Liquidum/Mineral Oil, Propylene Glycol, Polyquarternium 37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Petrolatum, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil/Olive Oil, Glycine Soja Oil/Soybean Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit/Shea Butter, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil/Jojoba Oil, Cocos Nucifera Oil/Coconut Oil, Persia Gratissima Oil/Avocado Oil, Hydrolyzed Glycine Soja Protein/Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Panax Ginseng Root Extract/Ginseng Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract/Rosemary Extract, Equisetum Hiemale Extract/Horsetail Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil/Tea Tree Oil, Steareth 2, Steareth 20, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Methylparaben, Proplyparaben, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Phenyl Ttrimethicone, Lanolin Oil, Acrylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride/Acrylates, Copolymer, DMDM Hydantoin, Polysorbate 20, CI 19140/Yellow 5, Fragrance, CI 15985/Yellow 6, Benzyl Benzoate, d-Limonene, Linalool.

So looking at this ingredient list I’m seeing a lot of different types of oils like mineral, olive, soybean, jojoba, coconut, avocado, tea tree, vegetable, lanolin and other ingredients like shea butter. All of these oils are super great for moisturizing and promoting hair growth. The only things I have a problem with are the fragrance, aritifical colorings, and parabens (for those who don’t like parabens). Personally, I’m okay with parabens because there’s been a lot of research to counteract the negative reputation they’ve gathered but I think the whole world is united against fragrance and aritificial coloring.

The Run-Down:

I have tried many leave-in conditioners, but what really strikes me about this formula is how lightweight it is. I know I mentioned it before, but the consistency is comparable to an essence. It is runny and ever so slightly creamy. It absorbs super well into my damp hair, and my asian medium thick hair doesn’t need a lot to feel rejuvenated and healthy. Other leave-in conditioners tend to weigh my hair down, but this one lightly coats each hair with moisture and makes it feel that much healthier and thicker. I only use this product on the ends of my hair where it’s stiff and dry and I don’t need a lot to do the job. My scalp produces a lot of oil so I never use it at my roots. I will admit, that despite my vendetta against artificial fragrance, the smell of the conditioner is INTOXICATING. It’s one of my favorite product scents. It’s fruity and fresh and it makes me extremely happy.

Pros and Cons:

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • Cheap
  • Super effective
  • Smells incredible

CONS

  • Contains artifical fragrance and coloring (but it smells so good)

Who Should Use:

I will recommend this to anyone, especially people with light or thin hair. If you have a lot of thick hair, you might find yourself running through the bottle a little faster but the formula is so good and cheap, it might be worth it.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5/5 stars

Holy Grail. I don’t know if I will ever find a leave in conditioner as light, effective, cheap, and amazing as this one. If they released one without fragrance and artificial coloring, I would be sad to no longer have this delicious scent but I would love it even more.
