Hi friends! There are so many sheetmasks out there but today I’m going to be talking to you guys about my current favorite… the Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Sheet Mask!
On Papa Recipe’s website they claim,
“Indulgence in a sheet mask! A treatment sheet mask made with nature’s best ingredients including honey, propolis, and royal bee jelly. Royal bee jelly not only has a name that sounds majestic, but it will heal damaged skin–royal indeed!”
From this we learn that the main points of this sheetmask are the honey, propolis, and royal bee jelly. Keeping that in mind, let’s look at the ingredients list!
Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Methylpropanediol, Propanediol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, PVM/MA Copolymer, Trehalose, Polysorbate 20, Panthenol, Carbomer, Arginine, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Hyaluronic Acid, Royal Jelly Extract, Propolis Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide NP, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cholesterol, Peat Water, Butylene Glycol, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Licorice Root Extract, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Acorus Calamus Root Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Fragrance, Honey
Papa Recipe highlights the inclusion of Allantoin, Royal Jelly Extract, Propolis Extract, and Honey. I love how Royal Jelly Extract, Propolis Extract, and Honey have anti-bacterial properties that can be extremely effective in fighting acne while moisturizing the skin. However, I do see that Honey is at the very bottom of the list, even below fragrance, which is extremely disappointing. That means there’s barely any honey in the mask, which seems to counteract all the claims of the Honey Mask. Allantoin is around the middle of the list and is great for soothing the skin and stimulating new growth. On a similar note, the mask also has a little bit of Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, otherwise known as Green Tea Extract. This ingredient makes the mask just a little more moisturizing. I also like the addition of Hyaluronic Acid for making this sheet mask extra moisturizing. Looking at the rest of the ingredients, I see a lot of ingredients for enhancing the texture, more moisturizing, penetrating deeper into the skin, and softening the skin. The only ingredient I truly have a problem with is fragrance.
Price: For 10 pieces
In the middle of a Chicago winter, sometimes my skin needs a little reviving. This sheetmask is so moisturizing I would recommend it to every one of my dry skinned friends out there. If you are one of those people who has dry patches no matter what you slather on, I think this would make a great addition to your skincare routine. After I use this mask my skin is super glowy. (Honey skin here I come!) Plus, with the honey I’m healing my acne and moisturizing at the same time. This sheetmask is the most moisturizing sheetmask I have tried so far. The only gripe I have with this sheet mask is the ingredients. If you call this a honey sheet mask, shouldn’t you have more honey than fragrance? Or better yet, have no fragrance and more honey? Still, don’t get me wrong, I still love this sheet mask.
Pros and Cons:
- Super moisturizing
- Has Royal Jelly Extract and Propolis Extract
- Small amount of honey
Who Should Use:
Like I said before, this sheetmask is for people with dry skin. I personally have normal combination skin that leans to the oily side but I still enjoy this mask because I like a lightly dewy look. I think people will dry skin will get the most out of this sheet mask.
The price of this sheet mask is not too bad although it’s not dirt cheap. I know I’ve said this a thousand times but it’s just very moisturizing. I just wish the ingredients were a little more natural and clean.
