Ever heard of glass skin? Pores are the enemy of smooth, shiny glass skin. Blackhead strips, charcoal masks, squeezing are all exhausting, painful, and time-consuming. And they don’t work. In fact, blackhead strips can make your blackheads even bigger! There are few products that I use to see results overnight, but this is one of them.
On the Yesstyle website (The Skinmiso website is all in Korean and your girl is 100% Chinese) they say, “Skinmiso Pore Corset Serum is a pore-tightening, exfoliating and sebum control serum that takes care of over 20,000 invisible pores on the face.” To be frank, this serum does exactly that. In minutes my pores are smaller, my skin smoother, and the sebum is regulated.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Glycerin, Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Hizikia Fusiforme Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Terminalia Chebula Fruit Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Helichrysum Arenarium Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Codium Tomentosum Extract, Gelidium Cartilagineum Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopheryl Acetate, Menthol, Propylene Glycol, Aluminum Lactate, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Hydroxyacetophenone, Isohexadecane, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Polysorbate 60, Diethyl oxalate, Laureth-7, Steareth-21, Cetyl Alcohol, Steareth-2, Stearic Acid, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Triethanolamine, Dimethicone, Polyacrylamide, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Fragrance, Ethylhexylglycerin
The Skinmiso website focuses on the Witch Hazel, Hijikia, and Green Tea extract and they do seem to appear near the top of the list which we always love. However, the appearance of water as the first ingredient is definitely saddening and confusing because this product works so well regardless. Additionally, Alchohol as the third ingredient? As they don’t specify what kind of alcohol this is it is difficult to tell whether or not it is harmful or good. Butylene Glycol, the second ingredient, is an alcohol that is used for conditioning the skin safely. PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer is a safe solvent, likely used to make the serum more liquidy. Glycerin is a super common humectant for moisturizing the skin. Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate is another sort of solvent, used for giving the serum structure. Sodium Hyaluronate is a great moisturizer and also has abilities to fight wrinkles. The next ingredient is Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel actually has the ability to minimize enlarged pores and sometimes help acne but it’s quite controversial in longterm use. It contains quite a high amount of denatured alcohol (ethanol) which is why it will be drying if used in excess. Long term use may not be ideal but I suppose in small increments it would not be a large concern. The Hizikia Fusiforme Extract is advertised as a key extract of the serum and is commonly used for anti-aging and stimulated collagen cells. The next ingredient is Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract otherwise known as Green Tea. Green Tea is generally known for calming the skin and reducing redness. None of the ingredients really stand out to me as great or bad with the exception of cetyl alcohol which is considered to be a harmful alcohol. However, it is so low down the list I would not consider it to be a problem. In general, I’m not sure how this serum works so well, but I would assume that it is the resulting combination of the ingredients rather than an individual star chemical.
In general, I LOVE this serum. It’s very light, absorbs quickly, and has a very subtle cooling effect. My skin just feels so smooth after using it. Literally no exfoliator or moisturizer has made my skin feel this way. Of course I still exfoliate to keep those dead skin cells away but I just can’t stress how much this serum has changed my skin. The blackheads on my nose especially have gotten smaller (Which I thought would never happen) and the pores beside my nose have also shrunk. I have also heard many reviewers say that this serum has helped their acne and I could totally see that happening. I usually break out from stress, bad diet, and my hormonal cycles but because this serum regulates sebum pretty well, I can definitely see how it would decrease breakouts. Basically, I love this serum and I cannot stress that enough. I am definitely looking forward to trying some of Skinmiso’s other products (if there are any specific ones you want me to try, make sure to comment them below!)
Pros and Cons:
- Effectively shrinks pores
- Makes skin super soft
- Little to no fragrance (even though in ingredient list)
- Ingredient List contains alcohol although there is no drying of the skin
- Contains Witch Hazel
Who Should Use:
I think this is the most suited for people with oily or combination skin since we usually have the biggest pores (I have a sad). Also, because this serum regulates sebum, it definitely could improve overall skin balance. That is not to say, of course, that dry skinned people can’t use this serum. Just make sure to follow up with your usual moisturizing routine!
I know, I know a historic moment. I just love this serum, and I have little hope in finding another like it. I will still try other serums but this one will always have a place on my shelf.
Make sure to check in soon for a March Favorites! (First time we might not talk about skincare !wow!) Thanks for reading this post. If you liked if please give it a like and share it with any of your friends or family who might want to have smaller pores! Lots of love ❤
