Ingredients:

Water, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Butylene Glycol, Adansonia Digitata Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Polysorbate 60, Cyclohexasiloxane, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Stearate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Alcohol, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Poloxamer 407, Peg-100 Stearate, Phytantriol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium Edta, Fragrance

Water is the first ingredient here, but with this incredible price point, I guess it’s understandable. Hydrolyzed Collagen is right after water in terms of percentage and um COLLAGEN COLLAGEN COLLAGEN. Enough said. Say goodbye to fine lines and wrinkles. Next, we have a very standard humectant (an ingredient that draws moisture from the air)- Butylene Glycol. Our fourth ingredient is Adansonia Digitata Fruit Extract. This is the Baobab oil Etude House also advertises with this emulsion. Baobab oil penetrates the skin, deeply moisturizes, and softens the skin. So we’re big fans of this one. Next is good ol’ Glycerin. You’ll see Glycerin in a ton of products, being another super common humectant. Another interesting ingredient is Ethylhexylglycerin. It’s used in place of parabens so if you are concerned about those, this emulsion is Gucci; It even helps with eczema. You might be concerned about the Cetearyl Alcohol, but it’s actually just an emollient(skin softener) and it’s even allowed to be in “alcohol-free” products because it’s quite safe. Now that big fat “Alcohol” is not exactly what I wanted to see but it’s pretty low down the list. The rest of the ingredients do not raise any eyebrows. To be honest, the only real concern I have is the Dimethicone. While Dimethicone traps moisture in the skin it also traps bacteria, sebum, and other impurities, making this a riskier choice for those with acne prone or oily skin. However, it is in the middle of the list, which means content-wise, it’s on the lower end. Personally, I have not experienced any breakouts because of this product.

Pretty easy to use top. The emulsion isn’t watery, so it comes out nicely.

Super light and absorbs easily. It does look like mayonnaise on this surface but ignore that.

The Run-Down:

I really enjoy products with a lighter consistency (particularly if it’s being used for the whole face) and this emulsion is wonderfully light. It has absolutely no sticky residue and absorbs pretty quickly. It also plumps the skin, smoothes the pores, and softens noticeably well. It moisturizes decently, but I would most definitely use other products in tandem with this, especially in cold Chicago winters. The ingredient list is quite impressive as well, with Collagen sitting second most concentrated ingredient and that extra baobab extract and oil. Although this product contains alcohol (that’s not Cetearyl Alcohol) and Dimethicone, they are low enough on the list and haven’t raised any problems for me, and my skin is pretty sensitive. However, if you’re super sensitive to fragrance, this might not be for you. It smells nice and clean and the scent wears off quickly but it’s strong at first. All this wonderful jazz and the bottle is relatively hefty at 180 mL for a stunning $13 – $15. This is an amazing price point for such a reliable product. Overall, this is a wonderful product and I would definitely purchasing it or even gifting it.

Pros and Cons:

PROS:

  • Super affordable price
  • Absorbs quickly
  • Moisturizes well
  • Leaves a smooth texture
  • Hygienic bottle

CONS

  • Alcohol
  • Dimethicone
  • The fragrance is pretty strong

Who Should Use:

This is a perfect moisturizer for those with oily or combo skin and a great moisturizer for people with dry skin (although if you have dry skin you may want to also apply cream or serum). So basically, it’s great for everyone!

Rating:

Love this stuff. I can definitely see why this is a holy grail for the Kbeauty community. I definitely would buy this again.
